CWS Workwear, a European leader in sustainable workwear as service, has opened a new industrial laundry facility in Brașov following an investment of approximately 3 million euros.
The investment marks a new stage for CWS Workwear in the Romanian market. As operations are progressively scaled up, the facility is designed to reach a processing capacity of approximately 22,000 garments per day, equivalent to 11–12 tonnes of textiles.
CWS Workwear has a team of 45 employees working from Brașov and provides services to companies in sectors where safety, hygiene and compliance are essential, such as automotive, food, pharmaceuticals, industrial manufacturing, chemicals and logistics.
Brașov was chosen for its logistics connectivity, developed infrastructure, availability of a skilled workforce and the region’s growth potential. The facility was designed so that its capacity can be expanded as demand evolves.
Hartmut Engler, Chief Executive Officer CWS Workwear: “Today’s opening represents a major strategic step in strengthening CWS Workwear’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe. Romania is a dynamic market with a strong industrial sector and our EUR 3 million investment allows us to meet growing demand for high-quality textile services. The new industrial laundry facility directly reflects our sustainability commitment: We are reducing our carbon footprint through new technologies, making resource consumption more efficient and offering our customers and partners a genuine circular economy model.”
In addition to the industrial laundry, the investment includes a new distribution hub for collecting and delivering garments to customers, as well as new office space, strengthening CWS Workwear’s operational infrastructure in Romania.
