UniCredit Group relocates Iași hub to new 7,000 sqm office space

UniCredit is strengthening its presence in Iași by relocating the operations of UniCredit S.p.A. Milano Bucharest Branch and UniCredit Bank Romania to a new office space within the Palas Iași mixed-use development, in the United Business Center (UBC) 5 building.

The new office spans more than 7,000 square meters and brings together over 1,300 professionals working across operations, support services and technology. Once the relocation is completed, teams previously based in two separate buildings, UBC 2 and UBC 6, will benefit from a shared and integrated working environment.

UBC 5 is LEED Platinum certified, the highest international standard for green buildings, supporting a sustainable and energy-efficient workplace.

“The relocation to the new space represents more than a change of headquarters. It is an investment in the future of our operations in Iași and in the people who contribute every day to the success of UniCredit Group. By bringing our teams together in a modern and high-performing operational hub, we are creating the conditions for closer collaboration, greater efficiency and a working environment that supports performance and professional development,” said Cristian Cilibiu, General Manager of UniCredit S.p.A. Milano Bucharest Branch.

After almost 20 years of activity in Iași, UniCredit has continuously expanded its local operations, turning its presence in the city into an important center for the Group’s activities in Romania.

“Over nearly 20 years of activity in Iași, UniCredit has continuously developed its local operations, transforming its center in the city into an important hub for the Group’s activities in Romania. Today, given the scale and complexity of the operations carried out here, UniCredit’s presence in Iași is one of the Group’s largest operations outside Bucharest and a strategic hub for operations, support services and technology,” said Mihaela Lupu, CEO of UniCredit Bank.

At the same time, UniCredit and IULIUS, the owner of the Palas Iași mixed-use development, have agreed to extend their partnership for another 10 years, reaffirming their mutual trust and long-term commitment to the development of one of the region’s most important business centers.

“We are honored by the trust UniCredit has placed in us for almost two decades and are pleased to continue this partnership at Palas. The decision further confirms Iași’s attractiveness as a destination for the long-term development of business operations. Palas is one of Romania’s most important business hubs, bringing together leading companies while providing employees with access to facilities, services and experiences that contribute to a healthy work-life balance. We are confident that the new space will support the professional development and performance of UniCredit’s teams in the years ahead,” said Ionuț Pavel, Office Buildings Manager at Palas Iași.
