Hidroelectrica has started modernization works for the 110 kV, 20 kV and 0.4 kV substations of the Tismana Subteran CHE Technical Block, worth RON 3.3 million. The contract was awarded to the association formed by Comrando SRL (leader of the association) and Enevo Group SRL as a result of a public procurement procedure.

By carrying out the works, it is desired to implement state-of-the-art technological solutions, the aim being to increase the safety in operation and the degree of reliability of the equipment, the modernized objectives thus entering a new life cycle.

“The equipment for which we will start the modernization works was put into operation about approx. 40 years, so that their technological level corresponds to the capacity of the Romanian industry of those times. In addition, since their commissioning, they have had a number of shortcomings which have required frequent repairs. It is obvious that we need to intervene to bring these stations to the level of current technical and safety rigors. We strictly follow the annual modernization plans we have proposed, and we work to bring in the optimal operating parameters of as many objectives belonging to the company,” said Bogdan Badea, President of Hidroelectrica.

CHE Tismana Subteran is a power plant equipped with two hydropower groups with Francis type turbines, with vertical shaft, put into operation in 1983 and is the most important hydropower plant in the Cerna-Motru-Tismana development, achieving over 56% of total energy electrical products here.
