    Published on

Hidroelectrica has signed a turnkey contract for the development of the “Țara Hațegului Photovoltaic Park”, marking a new strategic step toward diversifying its production portfolio and strengthening its position in the renewable energy market.

The contract, valued at RON 24.4 million (excluding VAT), was awarded following an open tender procedure that attracted four bids. After evaluation, the winning offer was submitted by the consortium formed by ELECTRO-ALFA INTERNATIONAL S.A. and GENERAL ME.EL ELECTRIC S.R.L., with ELECTRO-ALFA INTERNATIONAL acting as the consortium leader.

The project involves the development of a photovoltaic park with an installed capacity of 8.9 MWp and an estimated average annual production of approximately 11 GWh. The investment will help expand renewable energy generation, reduce carbon emissions, and support both national and European energy transition goals.

“Signing this contract marks another important milestone in our development strategy. The ‘Țara Hațegului Photovoltaic Park’ project confirms Hidroelectrica’s commitment to investing in modern and efficient green energy production capacities while diversifying the company’s energy mix. We remain focused on implementing sustainable projects that deliver long-term value to shareholders, customers, and local communities,” said Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica.

The turnkey project will cover design, equipment supply, construction works, testing, commissioning, and technical assistance during the warranty period. The total contract duration is 12 months, including 2 months for design and 10 months for execution.

Hidroelectrica is Romania’s largest producer of electricity from renewable sources and one of the leading energy players in Southeast Europe. With a portfolio of over 6.3 GW installed capacity in hydropower plants, along with the Crucea Wind Farm, the company plays a key role in national energy security and in achieving EU decarbonization targets.
