Agroland expands its agribusiness operations through the acquisition of Avirom in Buzău County

    Published on

Agroland Business System S.A. announces the completion of the acquisition of Avirom, a Romanian company active in the agribusiness sector, with production facilities located in Buzău County. The transaction represents an important new step in the implementation of Agroland Vision 2030, the group’s strategy aimed at building an integrated, sustainable, and scalable agri-food ecosystem with greater control over the value chain.

Avirom currently operates poultry breeding and reproduction farms for chickens, laying hens, and ducks, as well as a hatchery and complementary agricultural and technical infrastructure. Following the transaction, the acquired assets and capabilities will be integrated into Agroland’s Food Division, contributing to the expansion of internal production, increased self-sufficiency, and the group’s medium- and long-term growth.

“This acquisition is fully aligned with the strategic directions set out in Agroland Vision 2030 and reflects our commitment to long-term investment in productive assets such as production capacities, infrastructure, and expertise that support the group’s development. Through these investments, we are strengthening our ability to grow and expand our operations in Romania, with higher operational control, increased business stability, and greater potential for value creation,” said Horia Cardoș, Founder and CEO of Agroland Group.

Agroland Group has recently adopted a development strategy for its Food Division, which targets the expansion of cage-free and organic farms, the increase of the Mihăilești farm capacity to 900,000 laying hens by 2027, and the expansion of the organic Curtișoara farm to 30,000 hens by 2026, alongside the acquisition of new farms.

The plan involves total investments of RON 125–130 million by 2028, the launch of a liquid egg factory in Caransebeș in Q1 2026, and the development of derivative products (mayonnaise, sauces, omelettes) during 2027–2028. The strategy is supported by a favorable market context and export estimates of 40–50% of total sales. By 2028, Agroland expects revenues of over RON 250 million and an EBITDA margin of around 20%.
