    AFI secures 537 million euros refinancing package for three projects in Romania

    AFI announces it has secured a 537 million euros refinancing package for three major projects in its portfolio: AFI Cotroceni, AFI Brașov, and AFI Ploiești. The financing was provided by Erste Bank, Banca Comercială Română SA, Raiffeisen Bank SA, Raiffeisen Bank International, and Unicredit Bank SA represented by Dentons. AFI was assisted by CMS law firm.

    The three projects included in the refinancing are among the most prominent shopping centers in Romania.

    AFI Cotroceni is one of the largest shopping malls in Central and Eastern Europe, with 90,000 sqm of GLA and over 350 international and local brands. Located in the western part of Bucharest, the mixed-use development also includes a 15,400 sqm A Class office project, AFI Loft, the only office building delivered in 2024 in Bucharest.

    AFI Brașov is the mall in the center of Brasov, offering a total of 45,000 sqm GLA, and over 150 international and local brands.This mixed use development adds to the urban landscape a 27,500 sqm  A Class office project, AFI Park Brasov, with its second phase under construction.

    AFI Ploiești, inaugurated in 2013, was AFI’s first shopping center outside Bucharest. With over 34,000 sqm of leasable space, it is a city landmark, featuring retail and service areas, cinemas, sports facilities, and leisure zones.

    Earlier this year, AFI secured two other refinancing packages totalling 173 million euros for four office projects: AFI Park Timișoara, AFI Lakeview, AFI Park Floreasca, AFI Victoriei Plaza and for the Build to Rent project, AFI Home North.
