RenewAcad, the largest network of renewable energy training centers in Southeast Europe, and Rezolv Energy have opened a new training center in Buzău County dedicated to preparing specialists for the renewable energy industry.
This event also marks the launch of the first groups of trainees in the Rezolv Energy Skills Academy program, through which Rezolv Energy is providing 100 free training places for residents of the region.
The new center is set-up as a local skills hub for the green economy, where participants are trained for professions in the wind and solar sector through a combination of practical training and theoretical modules. RenewAcad provides the training infrastructure and certified trainers, while Rezolv Energy finances the free training places through the Rezolv Energy Skills Academy program, part of the Rezolv Energy Shift impact platform, which aims to make the energy transition fairer and more inclusive for communities in Romania.
“Energy transition for us means not only investments in wind and solar parks, but also direct investments in people,” said Marian Pavel, Country Manager Rezolv Romania. “Through the free places we provide at the RenewAcad center in Buzău, we want people in our Projects’ host communities to have real access to the jobs of the future, at international standards, and to be able to work long-term in clean energy projects, including in the VIFOR wind park area and other investments we are planning in Romania.”
The objective of the initiative is that by the end of the year at least 100 people from Buzău County complete both internationally accredited Global Wind Organisation (GWO) courses and national courses accredited by the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, preparing for a long-term career in renewable energy. Between 1 October and 13 November 2025, 121 people had already registered on the enrollment platform, exceeding the target by 21%, and starting 5 November. The first training groups began in both solar and wind fields and 50% of the participants come from the Vifor Project host communities.
The first programs run at the RenewAcad Buzău center include the GWO Basic Safety Training modules for the wind industry, already completed between 11–14 November, as well as the course “Installer for solar photovoltaic systems,” taking place between 4 November and 4 December 2025. Trainees come from Buzău County, covering all age categories—from young people aged 18–20 to individuals over 50—and various education levels, from qualification certificates to university degrees.
The program particularly encourages the enrollment of women, enabling more participants to access technical professions in the renewable energy sector, where they remain underrepresented.
“The official opening of the RenewAcad Buzău center confirms our role as a technical partner for renewable energy investments in Romania,” said Sebastian Enache, Director of RenewAcad. “We wanted to organize the training center within an educational institution and arranged outdoor training areas where participants prepare in conditions as close as possible to the reality in wind and solar parks: dedicated equipment, practical scenarios, and a highly hands-on approach. Our goal is that, in the end, each trainee is prepared to enter a worksite safely and meet employers’ requirements.”
Registrations for the free places offered by Rezolv Energy at the RenewAcad Buzău center continue and are open exclusively to individuals residing in Buzău County. To apply, candidates must complete the online form available at rezolv.renewacad.eu. New groups of trainees will be scheduled as the selection process advances. Depending on the number of applicants, training sessions will also be opened next year.
