Hidroelectrica has exceeded the threshold of one million household and business customers on the retail electricity supply market. This milestone marks a symbolic moment in the company’s development, which entered the direct supply segment in 2020 and has rapidly become one of the most important players in the industry.

“Reaching one million customers confirms the trust that Romanians place in Hidroelectrica and in the values we promote: fairness, stability, transparency, and clean energy. We will continue to invest with determination in digitalization, modern services, and renewable production sources to meet the increasingly high expectations of our customers,” said Bogdan Badea, President of Hidroelectrica’s Management Board.

Since entering the electricity supply market, Hidroelectrica has implemented a series of strategic modernization projects aimed at improving customer experience and strengthening consumer confidence. A key component of these efforts is the “IHidro” platform — an application that provides customers with quick access to consumption data, invoices, and payment options. In parallel, the company has deployed advanced CRM and data management systems, enabling faster and more personalized responses to customer requests.

Hidroelectrica remains Romania’s largest producer of renewable energy, operating a portfolio of 188 hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of 6.4 GW, as well as the Crucea wind farm, which adds 108 MW of wind-based generation.
