“Sustainability is not only a strategic objective, but an integral part of the way we develop each project, from concept to operation. And it is very important to say that all the buildings we develop are designed and built taking into account the new challenges, regulations that arise and that will influence and comply with all international certification standards.”
“Both projects in Bucharest – Timpuri Noi Square and Business Garden – are LEED Platinum certified. We emphasize energy efficiency, responsible use of resources, generous green spaces and facilities that help and contribute to both alternative mobility and social interaction,” said Sorin Macoveiu, Commercial Manager, Vastint Romania during the Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability-Today.
Key Statements:
- It is important both for end users, those who come and work for our tenants, our partners, but also for companies that want to find a modern, flexible, comfortable but at the same time sustainable working environment for their employees.
- Tenants play a key role both in terms of their requirements and in terms of what they want to achieve from an ESG perspective. Therefore, we develop projects with these expectations in mind, but more importantly, we must understand that as long as companies have to comply with certain rules and report, we must provide them with the necessary framework so that all these things can be met.
- The need to adapt to change is a continuous challenge for developers. In the medium and long term, we continue to think about developing mixed and sustainable projects that emphasize urban regeneration and the responsible use of resources.
- At the Timpuri Noi Square project, we are in the second stage of development and we have already decided to eliminate gas burners – a requirement that becomes mandatory starting in 2030 – because we want to be relevant in the long term.
