ENEVO Group and the National Directorate of Cyber Security (DNSC) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the cybersecurity of energy infrastructures. The agreement mainly aims at testing technologies and platforms for monitoring and alerting on cyber-attacks and incidents, as well as cooperation in order to ensure the visibility of incidents affecting energy sector infrastructures to facilitate a joint and coordinated response at national level.
The agreement between DNSC and ENEVO Group aims to:
- share information and threat intelligence for proactive detection of attacks;
- organize events, workshops and training sessions in the field of Operational Technology (OT) security;
- develop and disseminate to the public analytical materials and information based on relevant statistical data;
- active support for the development of public policies at national and European level in the field of industrial security.
Ensuring cybersecurity in essential areas fundamentally depends on close cooperation and the combined effort of all actors, both from the public and private sectors, by encouraging innovation, developing dedicated platforms, sharing know-how and actively exchanging information on cyber threats.
DNSC supports the launch of platforms that facilitate information exchange, analysis and alerting on potential cybersecurity incidents for essential and important sectors.
“The Romanian energy sector is one of the most sophisticated and advanced in terms of operational systems and infrastructures. It is no surprise that the number and intensity of cyber-attacks targeting this sector have increased in complexity and intensity, particularly after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. In this context, we need solutions, we need partners, professionals who focus on improving the cyber security and resilience of critical infrastructures in the energy sector”, said Dan Cîmpean, Director of DNSC.
SentryOT was developed within the ENEVO group by a Romanian team with unique expertise at the intersection of OT cybersecurity and energy engineering. This dual specialization ensures a deep understanding of the risks specific to critical infrastructures and allows the creation of solutions adapted to the realities on the ground, capable of effectively protecting essential industrial processes.
“We are pleased to announce the conclusion of this strategic partnership with DNSC, one of the initiatives that can contribute to strengthening the cyber resilience of critical energy infrastructures in Romania. This agreement reflects a common vision of the public and private sectors, based on proactivity, collaboration, efficient exchange of know-how and skills. In a sector at the beginning of its journey, our joint efforts aim at transparent and effective management of cybersecurity challenges in the industrial and energy fields”, says ENEVO Group CEO, Cristian Pîrvulescu.
