Distribuție Oltenia kicks off the 43rd edition of the Electrician’s Trophy: “Field Energy” comes to life in Craiova

    Published on

Distribuție Oltenia, the electricity distribution company in the southwest of the country with over 1.4 million consumers, is hosting this year the national stage of the Electrician’s Trophy, the most important professional competition dedicated to specialists in the energy field. The event, now in its 43rd edition, will take place from July 8 to 10, in Craiova, and will bring together approximately 400 participants from across the country.

By organizing this edition, Distribuție Oltenia confirms not only its strategic role in Romania’s energy infrastructure, but also its commitment to the continuous development of professionals in the field. The company manages the distribution network in seven counties in the south of the country. In 2024, Distribuție Oltenia was the operator with the largest number of connected prosumers in Romania, according to ANRE data, thus demonstrating performance and adaptability to the new requirements of the energy market.

Field Energy: Competition and Passion for Performance

The Electrician’s Trophy, initiated in 1977 and resumed in 1995, is the longest-running professional competition in the Romanian energy sector. Under the concept of “Field Energy”, this year’s edition parallels the team spirit and coordination of electricians with that of football players: two worlds united by the same determination and desire to excel.

The official opening ceremony took place on July 8 at the Oltenia Craiova Philharmonic, with the theoretical and practical competition tests taking place on July 8, 9 and 10 in different locations.

“We are honored to host the 43rd edition of the Electrician’s Trophy, an event that highlights the expertise and dedication of those who make energy supply possible every day. For us, this event is an opportunity to celebrate excellence and strengthen the national community of energy specialists,” said Ondrej Safar, CEO of Distribuţie Oltenia

The evolution of the Electrician’s Trophy 2025 competitors and the key moments of the competition can be followed in real time on the official Facebook page of Distribuţie Oltenia.

Distribuţie Oltenia, part of the Evryo Group, manages and invests in the distribution network in southern Romania, ensuring the electricity supply of seven counties in the Oltenia and Muntenia regions: Argeș, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți, Olt, Teleorman and Vâlcea. The company responds to the challenges brought by technological evolution and remains a trusted partner for consumers and prosumers. In 2024, Distribuție Oltenia was the distribution operator with the largest number of connected prosumers in Romania, according to ANRE
