Ministry of Energy launches a call for projects worth 315 million euros to support self-consumption

    Published on

The Minister of Energy is launching a call for projects for the Romanian economic environment, worth 315 million euros, to support self-consumption, said the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja,

“We are launching a very important call, I think it is the most important call for projects for the Romanian economic environment, 315 million euros to support self-consumption. Large Romanian companies or small Romanian companies that want to invest in solar parks, wind farms or even micro-hydropower plants will be able to access this money. We are waiting for the applications as always, because, having their own energy production capacities and covering consumption, they will be more resilient businesses, but they will also have lower energy bills. Through such measures, from my point of view, we are actually treating the cause. We are not just putting a bandage on it through price compensation, which is certainly paid from the budget and subsidized by all of us, but we are finding solutions so that our companies, Romanian companies, are truly competitive,” said Sebastian Burduja, at the opening of Energy Expo 2025.

This is the second call for projects aimed at supporting investments in new renewable energy production capacities for self-consumption, financed by the Modernization Fund, the cited source states.

According to the ministry, the objective of the call is to finance new electricity production capacities from wind, solar (below and above 5 MW), and hydro sources, respectively, intended for the applicant’s own consumption.
