    Garanti BBVA launches online onboarding

    Published on

Garanti BBVA offers new individual clients digital onboarding, enabling them to open a current account package with debit card included and access lending products 100% online, directly from their mobile device.

The onboarding process is based on biometric identity validation (selfie, liveness and facial recognition), document scanning via OCR (Optical Character Recognition), email address and phone number verification, qualified electronic signature and electronic archiving.

This launch is part of Garanti BBVA Romania’ broader digital transformation strategy, aiming to create a frictionless, mobile-first banking experience.

“We are not just digitalizing processes or products and services, we are reimagining banking. This is what the future banking looks like: fast, personal, and fully online. We have built a digital experience that is intelligent, secure, and customer oriented. No paperwork, no branch visits, no waiting. Just a few taps and you are in to a solution which is tailored to modern lifestyles. Whether customers are looking for a current account, a debit card, a credit card or a personal loan, they can get everything in one smooth flow, from the comfort of their home. At Garanti BBVA, we design digital experiences around real-life customer needs—quickly, easily, and securely, while maintaining a human connection”, said Tolga Banyocu, Deputy General Manager, Customer Solutions Area, Garanti BBVA.

New customers with current accounts set up online will automatically receive a complete RON account package with debit card, which includes Mobile Banking, SMS alerts, free RON transfers, and no fees for cash withdrawals at any ATM worldwide.
