Romania extends price caps for electricity and natural gas

    Published on

The Romanian government will approve the extension of price caps for electricity and natural gas, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced.

Marcel Ciolacu mentioned that the scheme would be extended by three months for electricity and one year for natural gas.

“For electricity, we are extending the scheme for three months, until the end of June, and in the meantime, we will come up with measures to increase market volumes so that the price remains low. For gas, we will maintain the price caps for another year to replenish the reserves for next winter at affordable prices,” the prime minister explained.
