    Dentons advises Piraeus on a 181 million euro financing for METLEN Energy & Metals’ solar plant in Romania

    Global law firm Dentons has advised Piraeus Bank on a 181 million euro project financing for the construction of a solar power plant located in Romania, with an approximate capacity of 273 MW, developed by METLEN Energy & Metals S.A. Greece.

    The transaction is part of the bank’s strategy to actively support the renewable energy sector, which offers strong dynamics and significant growth prospects.

    Dentons acted as the lead counsel for the bank on both English and Romanian law, overseeing and coordinating the financing transaction from drafting to closing. Banking and Finance partner Simon Dayes led the legal team, assisted by counsel Maria Tomescu and associates Alin Serea and Carmen Banica (all Banking and Finance) and senior associate Luiza Onofrei (Real Estate).
