Deputy Oana Ozmen: “We should help companies develop their own research and innovation centers in Romania”

    Published on

“It is very important to always take the recommendations and messages from companies and civil society. In addition to the aid schemes for the automotive industry, we must see how we can help this industry from the labour force perspective, perhaps through fiscal facilities for those companies that want to come and invest in Romania.

It is important to support companies to stay in Romania and we must think of policies that will help these companies in the future,” Oana Ozmen, Secretary of the Committee on Industries and Services, Deputy, Chamber of Deputies, Romanian Parliament.

“We should help companies develop their own research and innovation centers in Romania, as other countries invest in this area. Europe is at a critical moment in terms of the automotive industry, but I think we can recover the competitive gap with Asia.

We have to convince the big investors, the powerful countries to bring their businesses to Eastern Europe where the workforce is accessible and qualified.

Each community must think about investments in electric mobility or other technologies such as hydrogen. A challenge for Romania in the next period will be to develop the charging infrastructure and attract funds in this regard.

It is important to continue the discussions and debates in Parliament regarding alternative fuels, because they can be solutions for Romania during the transition period.”
