    MCID offers 180 million RON financing for the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies in several sectors

    The Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization (MCID) finances with 182.2 million RON projects that involve the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies in 25 research and development themes covering a wide range of activity sectors such as industry, outer space, defence, internal affairs, agriculture and biodiversity.

    Funding is provided by the National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation 2022-2027 (PNCDI IV), program 5.6 – Challenges, subprogram 5.6.3. – Solutions.

    “We are investing more than 180 million lei to develop applications based on the latest technologies, such as high-performance sensors for observing artificial objects in the vicinity of the Earth or services for the analysis and assessment of extra-atmospheric space. At the same time, the projects selected through this financing line contribute to Romania’s involvement in the European program for secure communications, by consolidating the national components and creating a system architecture, to ensure the continuity of national activities and the transition to Secure Connectivity”, stated Bogdan Ivan, the minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization.

    The financing procedure is carried out by the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI), and the project implementation period is between 24 and 36 months from the date of signing the financing contracts.
