    Cegeka Romania appoints Lucian Popovici as the new Director of Applications

    Cegeka Romania, a leading company in providing IT&C solutions and services at the European level, announces today that it has appointed Lucian Popovici as the company’s new Director of Applications.

    He will take over the role from Ovidiu Pinghioiu, currently Country Director of Cegeka Romania, and will be responsible for overseeing the growth and management of Cegeka’s portfolio. Currently, the Applications Division, which serves both the local market and international clients, has 250 employees. The objective is to double the workforce, reaching 500 professionals, within the next two years.

    With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, Lucian excels in fast-paced environments. He played a pivotal role in the inception of Deloitte Digital Romania, where he served as the Director of Engineering for six years. During his term, Lucian successfully scaled the team to over 700 dedicated IT engineers across various locations in Romania.

    Currently, the Applications Division serves over 30 clients, with 90% of them being from the local market, from various industries such as banking, retail, telecom, insurance, IT, logistics and more. The division also serves international clients from European and American markets. The company’s portfolio includes important clients such as  NN, ING, Orange, FAN Courier, Carrefour, Vodafone.
