The Romanian Energy Symposium – SIREN 2023, with the theme “Romania continues the transition towards a safe, climate-neutral and consumer-centric energy system”, will be organized between September 11-13, 2023 by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (CNR-CME), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy.

SIREN 2023 is dedicated exclusively to energy and the Romanian economic environment, and the event will be attended by economic and political decision-makers and experts who will debate the novelties and opportunities of the energy sector in Romania, as well as the challenges it faces in the current regional context.

Underlining the importance of organizing SIREN 2023, Mr. Dan Ioan Gheorghiu, the president of CNR-CME states:

“We are at the second edition of the Romanian Energy Symposium -SIREN 2023. The event will take place in a period crossed by a series of great turmoil at the European level, also amplified by the war on our country’s border, given that world energy has been in a transition process for over 10 years, with a series of inherent difficulties. The convulsions triggered in the field of energy worldwide in the fall of 2021, amplified by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, make it all the more necessary to engage in pertinent debates, focused on objectivity, quality, coherence and construction. I am convinced that the success of our event will result from the diversity and quality of ideas advanced by well-known specialists, who can offer potential solutions to decision makers in the field for effective actions, so that we can have safe, sustainable, clean and affordable energy”.

The symposium will be organized in physical format on Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Crowne Plaza Bucharest.

The Scientific Communications sessions on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, will be held exclusively online, on the Zoom platform.

“SIREN 2023 is structured on four main themes: 1) Strategies and policies for energy transition; 2) Investment programs in the field of energy; 3) New technologies in the field of energy; 4) Commercial, market and consumer policies. The symposium also includes a Scientific Communications Session with specialized sections, which will highlight current developments, research and experiences in Romanian energy. Also, after the event, an interesting tutorial program will be organized, through which CNR-CME wants to materialize one of its first-line goals, namely the didactic component of training and dissemination of experience. In this way, we also invite Romanian energy specialists, our collective and individual members and all our collaborators to participate in the second edition of the Romanian Energy Symposium, with the wish for a successful event”, says Mr. Ștefan Gheorghe , executive general director CNR-CME.
