Hidroelectrica signed the reception of the commissioning of the installations related to hydro aggregate number 2 (HA2) of the Tismana Underground hydroelectric plant. The works are part of a contract with several objectives, the total value of which amounts to 20.8 million RON and were carried out by Electromontaj. The investment concerned HA2 automation and control facilities, auxiliary facilities, 0.4 kV alternating current supply and distribution facilities, etc.

“By carrying out the modernization and rehabilitation works of the equipment, we aim to implement state-of-the-art technological solutions. We are interested in introducing automation where possible so that our goals can be operated with as little human intervention as possible. We believe that modern technology brings a significant added value to operational safety and system reliability. It is an effort that Hidroelectrica makes as part of the commitment it has assumed to continuously modernize the objectives it has in its portfolio,” said Bogdan Badea, the president of the Hidroelectrica directorate.

CHE Tismana Underground is the largest hydropower unit within the Cerna-Motru-Tismana hydropower complex. The plant uses water from the Motru reservoir, which has a useful volume of 3.5 million m.c. through a forced pipeline 8,580 m long, and from the Clocotiș lake, with a useful volume of 1.8 million cubic meters. and with a gallery of 11,450 meters.

Hidroelectrica operates a number of 182 hydroelectric plants and five pumping stations, with a total installed energy production capacity of 6.3 GW. To these is added the Crucea wind farm, with an installed power of 108 MW.
