Israel’s Ambassador to Romania visited ALRO

    Published on

ALRO, one of the largest vertically integrated aluminium producers in Europe, measured by production capacity, recently had as a guest Israel’s Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency, Reuven Azar.

Marian Nastase, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ALRO, presented the industrial platform’s characteristics, the production process, and the Company’s products.

“I visited ALRO Corporation in Slatina, the leading producer of aluminum in Romania with facilities employing around 2000 workers. ALRO is an important supplier to the Israeli industries, with about 5% of its output going to Israel. The increase in defense spending in Europe is going to increase sales. I discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors Marian Nastase additional avenues of cooperation, such as in the field of green energy. Looking forward to expanding our cooperation,” the ambassador said.

ALRO invested more than USD 700 million in the nearly 20 years since its privatization: implementing state-of-the-art technology in multiple energy-intensive processes, significantly reducing electricity consumption, production of recycled aluminium, and reducing the Company’s environmental footprint. At the same time, these investments have allowed the manufacturing of high and very high value-added aluminum products, which made ALRO one of the exclusive club members of the global manufacturers for the aeronautical industry.
