Underlining the need and importance of the Forum, Iulian Iancu, President of CNR-CME says: “FOREN 2022 overlaps with a period of war and a succession of crises generated by the Covid-19 Pandemic. In this context, with dramatic implications, FOREN 2022 responds to a real need for analysis and debate and becomes a platform for solutions to overcome the crisis, offered by energy experts in order to solve the challenges facing the energy sectors in the Central European region and South-East, as well as to identify potential solutions for energy cooperation, amid the acute problems currently facing the energy community.
We are witnessing multiple and unexpected challenges that are intensifying, with an impact on the regional and global energy transition. Dialogue, active involvement and capacity building of energy market actors are urgently needed. We are going through a very difficult period in a decisive decade for the future of Europe and the world. So we need to be united, think about the implications globally, and act regionally and locally to overcome this serious crisis. Many of the solutions to the challenges require joint debates on the specific issues of each area in the region, and FOREN 2022 is an ideal environment for dialogue for information exchange, experience, good practices, business meetings between experts from countries in the region, but also for potential opportunities. cooperation, so beneficial in this special period ”.
