E.ON Romania: Photovoltaic panels, the “green” solution for 90 percent lower bills

    Published on

Last year, a number of 150 home customers of E.ON Energie Romania became prosumers through the E.ON Solar Home solution, which helps them to produce their own green energy with the help of photovoltaic panels and thus reduce their electricity bills.

In total, 3,500 photovoltaic panels were installed, generating 300 MWh per year, enough to power a 10-light house for 200 years. At the same time, CO2 emissions were reduced by 646 tons per year, the equivalent of 162 cars per year.

In a market marked by high volatility in energy prices, partial or, in some cases, even total coverage of a household’s own consumption and the possibility of selling the surplus produced to suppliers are criteria that make the investment in a photovoltaic system become more and more attractive. Under the new regulations on the quantitative compensation of prosumers, the energy bill can be reduced by as much as 90 percent.

Recently, in the residential segment, the clients of E.ON Energie Romania have accessed the entire range of available power: 3 kW, 4 kW, 5 kW, 6kW, 8kW, 10 kW, 12 kW, 15 kW, both in single-phase system, as well as three-phase. For example, a 3 kW photovoltaic system produces, on average, 3,500 kWh / year, enough to cover an average monthly consumption of about 300 kWh.

The full price for the photovoltaic solutions offered by E.ON to domestic customers starts from about 25,000 RON for the 3 kW single-phase system. Customers can choose to pay for the solution delivered by the company in full or in fixed monthly installments for a period of 1, 3, 5 or 7 years. The installation takes about 30 days, the warranty on the equipment is 15 years, and the return on investment is between 2 and 4 years, depending on the installed power of the photovoltaic system.
