ADR and UTCN organized a public consultation on the first national artificial intelligence strategy

    Published on

The Authority for the Digitization of Romania (ADR) and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) organized on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in Cluj-Napoca, a public consultation on the objectives and main directions of action outlined so far for the first national intelligence strategy artificial (AI).

The purpose of the consultation was to strengthen the collaboration between public, private and academic circles, through a concerted effort to crystallize the directions and deliverables necessary for the development and implementation of AI solutions in Romanian society and economy.

“Artificial intelligence is an essential part of the digital transformation process, and the benefits of using AI technologies for local government authorities are substantial. The dialogue with the participants and stakeholders allows us to identify the opportunities and challenges that innovative technologies present for the administration, the business environment and the academic environment. Artificial Intelligence has the capacity to revolutionize the activity of public institutions”, said Dragoș Vlad, president of ADR.

Marcel Boloș, Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization (MCID), emphasized the role of MCID in adopting emerging technologies for public service delivery: “We all know how complex the process of digital transformation is. But this process is irreversible, as shown by the example of other Member States of the European Union that have gone through the stages of digital transformation in the public sector. I congratulate ADR and UTCN for this project which undoubtedly contributes to the consolidation of e-government in Romania.“

Daniela Popescu, vice-rector of UTCN, stated that “the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the Romanian Digitization Authority have managed to share the expertise and knowledge gained at the level of organizations in the public sector, academia and the private sector. This association ensures the achievement of quality content in the first place, but it will also highlight the concerns and needs of each relevant actor in society and the economy regarding digitalization from the perspective of using innovative technologies.“
