“Several companies active in Romania in the sectors that face significant electricity costs, and which are especially exposed to international competition have already received money, after submitting files for financing, based on GEO 81/2019. So far, 493.4 million RON have been paid, and in the following days payments of 41.5 million RON will be made, out of a total of approximately 635 million RON,” said Virgil Popescu, Minister of Energy.

“Through this financial aid we support 15 branches of the Romanian industry. We are talking about producers who have employees directly and horizontally in the economy of over 100,000 employees. At the same time, through this scheme we avoid the risk of relocation of some companies that contribute to the Romanian economy.”
