Rompetrol Rafinare to restart the Petromidia refinery by the end of September

    Published on

Rompetrol Rafinare, a member company of the KMG International Group, intends to restart the production activities of the Petromidia refinery by the end of September, in accordance with the work schedule and delivery of equipment necessary for repairs and inspections of units affected by the July 2 incident. Production units will gradually enter the operational flow.

This term is conditioned by the additional measures of verification and testing of the equipment, in accordance with the safety rules for their start-up and the safety measures in operation, but also by the approval and certification of the installations by the competent authorities.

Currently, specific repairing, electrical and engineering activities are taking place, in the affected facilities.

The operation of the installations within the Petromidia refinery were interrupted as a result of the technical incident that occurred on July 2, 2021, in the Diesel Hydrotreater unit (HPM).
