“The Grid Edge concept represents a new dimension, where smart grids, consumers, prosumers and manufacturers interact, and this collaboration creates new types of services, new business models and new opportunities. Siemens solutions at the grid edge are designed to enable: energy efficiency optimisation for buildings, infrastructures and industries, renewables integration, control energy supply, support infrastructure for eMobility expansion,” Vasile Cristea, Head of Distribution Systems – Smart Infrastructure, Siemens Romania said during Digital Transformation in Energy & Utilities, organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

“The energy system is in a continuous transition, accentuated by digitalization, decarbonization and decentralization.

Network operators must face new challenges: integrate renewable energies, and manage intelligently the flow of energy coming from different directions. We are offering with energy storage solutions, and, in addition to automation and digitization, cybersecurity equipment ready by default. With this equipment it is much easier to introduce security policies.”
