AFI Appoints BOG’ART as General Contractor for AFI Central Tower

    Published on

AFI has signed a contract with BOG’ART for the redevelopment and modernization works of AFI Central Tower, its landmark mixed-use project located on Calea Victoriei, in the heart of Bucharest. BOG’ART, one of Romania’s leading general contractors in the construction industry, will serve as the project’s general contractor.

AFI Central Tower is one of the most significant urban regeneration projects currently under development in Bucharest. The project follows AFI’s acquisition of Bucharest Financial Plaza, one of the capital’s most iconic office buildings.

Following its transformation, AFI Central Tower will provide approximately 28,100 sqm of total leasable area, including 24,500 sqm of modern office space and approximately 3,600 sqm of ground-floor retail space. The project is designed to combine contemporary workplaces with community-oriented amenities and convenience services, including retail units, restaurants, a pharmacy and other facilities intended to serve both the building’s tenants and the general public.

“AFI Central Tower represents far more than the transformation of an existing building – it reflects our long-term vision of developing mixed-use projects to the highest standards in unique urban locations. We selected BOG’ART as our partner because of its extensive experience in delivering complex landmark developments to the highest quality standards. Together, we are bringing new life to an iconic building, and we are confident that once completed, AFI Central Tower will establish itself as a prime destination for both business and leisure in the heart of Bucharest, recognized not for what it once was, but for what it has become,” said Doron Klein, Group Deputy CEO & CEO AFI Romania.

“For more than three decades, BOG’ART has contributed to delivering landmark projects that have reshaped Romania’s urban landscape. AFI Central Tower represents a new opportunity to continue this mission by transforming a building with a strong identity in Bucharest into a modern and sustainable hub. Our experience in executing complex developments, together with the high standards of quality, precision and performance that define our company, provide the foundation for successfully delivering this project, which is designed to contribute to Bucharest’s long-term urban evolution. We are honored to partner with AFI Romania and to help turn this vision into reality,” said Sorin Greu, General Manager of BOG’ART.

Transformation works at AFI Central Tower are currently underway and involve a comprehensive reconfiguration of the building to meet today’s standards for performance, safety and sustainability. The project is being developed in line with the latest technical standards, with a strong focus on structural performance and on adapting the building to the evolving requirements of the modern office market. AFI Central Tower will also integrate advanced energy-efficiency and sustainability solutions, with the company targeting LEED Platinum certification.

The transformation of AFI Central Tower is part of AFI’s strategy to modernize and reposition mature office assets into Class A mixed-use developments that meet current tenant expectations and support the company’s ESG objectives. Through this investment, AFI is contributing to the revitalization of one of Bucharest’s most important historical and business districts, offering a new perspective on how landmark buildings can be successfully adapted to the needs of the contemporary city.
