Schneider Electric is expanding its portfolio of energy transition solutions with Schneider Boost Pro, an energy storage system designed for commercial and industrial buildings. The solution enables companies to manage available energy more efficiently, integrate renewable energy sources and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and optimize energy consumption based on demand, generation, and energy costs.
Schneider Boost Pro consists of energy storage batteries managed through a dedicated controller that monitors and coordinates the entire system. Each battery provides 215 kWh of usable storage capacity and 100 kW of power output. A single controller can manage up to 10 batteries simultaneously, enabling a total storage capacity of up to 2.15 MWh and power output of up to 1 MW. This modular architecture provides flexibility and allows the system to be adapted to projects with different energy requirements.
Schneider Boost Pro has been designed for long-term performance and reliability, offering more than 7,300 life cycles and 90.8% round-trip efficiency. The system features an advanced monitoring and protection architecture, including intelligent air cooling, thermal monitoring through 264 temperature sensors, and an integrated fire prevention and suppression system. Protection is further enhanced by integrated electrical protection devices and the ability to isolate individual cells. Automatic updates also help maintain and optimize system performance throughout its operational lifetime.
Cybersecurity is another key element of the solution. Schneider Boost Pro is designed according to the cybersecurity-by-design principle, incorporating mechanisms to protect data and encrypted communications. This contributes to safeguarding energy infrastructure in a context where connectivity and digitalization are becoming essential components of modern energy systems.
Through Modbus TCP/RTU connectivity, Schneider Boost Pro can be integrated into existing infrastructure and communicate with different energy assets, including photovoltaic installations and EV charging stations. Energy management can be carried out locally through EcoStruxure Energy Asset Controller or via EcoStruxure Energy Storage Gateway, when integration with an Energy Management System is required, such as EcoStruxure Microgrid Advisor or a third-party platform.
For building owners, Schneider Boost Pro can help shift energy consumption to periods when electricity prices are lower, make more efficient use of locally generated renewable energy, and reduce grid consumption during peak periods. At the same time, stored energy can support business continuity in certain backup scenarios, while self-consumption optimization can contribute to carbon footprint reduction targets.
The solution can also be deployed in buildings without existing EV charging infrastructure. Where EV infrastructure is already in place, Schneider Boost Pro can be integrated with charging stations and their management systems, enabling the coordinated management of EV charging demand, energy available from the battery, and locally generated solar power.
“As companies continue to integrate more electrical equipment, renewable energy sources, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the ability to store and intelligently manage energy is becoming essential. Schneider Boost Pro turns energy storage into a strategic tool for businesses, helping them reduce costs, strengthen energy resilience, and support their sustainability goals,” said Remus Spinu, Offer Marketing Manager RO, MD, AR at Schneider Electric.
