Enevo signs a 1 GWh battery procurement deal with Sungrow to support Romania’s energy storage boom

    Published on

Romanian engineering company Enevo has signed a major agreement with Chinese company Sungrow to purchase battery energy storage systems totaling 1 GWh, supporting the rapid expansion of energy storage in Romania.

The partnership is part of a broader effort to integrate battery storage with renewable energy production and strengthen Romania’s energy infrastructure.

The first phase includes projects totaling about 440 MWh, scheduled for delivery before the end of 2026.

A second phase will add another 560 MWh, bringing the total to over 1 GWh.

All projects will use Sungrow’s liquid-cooled battery energy storage systems (BESS), designed for large-scale applications and already deployed in multiple European countries.

The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies in the solar sector and expands it into energy storage. Enevo aims to become a leading EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contractor for large-scale battery storage systems in the region.
