Romgaz celebrates 110th anniversary, faces major challenges

    Published on

Romgaz today celebrated its 110th anniversary in an event attended by many partners and local authorities, as well as government representatives.

The company faces major challenges that could fundamentally change the Romanian energy industry.

“We are celebrating over a century of activity for a leading Romanian company. We have gone a long way from a local company to an international company. I am convinced that only together we can overcome all the challenges we will face. A very hard work is waiting for us. Romgaz is a very solid and profitable company, but it exploits a fuel that will end,” said Adrian Volintiru, CEO Romgaz.

Romgaz is working on portfolio diversification through the Iernut and Mintia thermal power plants. The company is also studying the market for a potential entry into the petrochemical industry.
