Engie Romania invests five million RON in dual education project in Bucharest and Brasov

In the context of an acute shortage of skilled labor force, Engie Romania, through its Distrigaz Sud Retele and Engie Servicii companies, will invest five million RON in a dual education project for training 120 young professionals from Bucharest and Brasov, through “Energy for my job” program.

Motivated by the need to secure technically qualified personnel for its distribution, supply and technical services, Engie Romania set up the first dual education classes in Mihai Bravu Technical College in Bucharest in 2018. Starting with the school year 2019-2020, Engie will continue the program by setting up another class in Bucharest and will extend it with a class in Brasov, to the “Mircea Cristea” Technical College.

“The lack of qualified staff has become a pressing issue, which has increased from year to year. In the period 2017-2018 we managed to attract about 50 young people with plumber specialization in the Juniors Plumber Program, but the need is much greater. By activating in a highly technical field, ensuring a skilled workforce for both the safe exploitation of the natural gas distribution network and the safe maintenance and operation of the indoor facilities owned by our customers is a an indispensable condition for the smooth running of the business,” said Eric Stab, CEO, Engie Romania.
