Eurowind Energy Romania, through its affiliated company Teiuș Solar S.R.L., announces the completion and commissioning of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Teiuș, Alba County.
With a capacity of 120 MWh, the system has entered operation following the completion of testing, integration, and verification procedures.
The total investment in the project amounts to 21 million euros, with financial support provided through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Adrian Dobre, Country Manager of Eurowind Energy Romania, said: “The completion of the Teiuș BESS is an important milestone in our strategy to contribute to the development of a more flexible and resilient energy grid. At Teiuș, we now have a solar power plant supported by 120 MWh of energy storage capacity, which will absorb surplus electricity and deliver it to the grid precisely when it is needed.
Our investments in Romania are continuing. We are preparing to build more than 500 MW of new capacity over the coming years, with our stated goal of installing 1 GW in Romania by 2030.”
Active in the Romanian market since 2011, Eurowind Energy Romania develops and operates renewable energy projects through a dedicated local team.
The company’s portfolio includes four operational solar parks — Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești, and Teiuș — as well as the Pecineaga wind farm and a development pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW across various stages of development.
Eurowind Energy Romania currently has 184 MW in operation in Romania, including 60 MW of battery storage capacity at Teiuș.
