Leroy Merlin Romania, the home improvement retailer specialising in construction, home decoration and gardening, has allocated a 24.5 million euros investment budget for 2026 to expand and strengthen its store network, develop its IT infrastructure and accelerate digitalisation. The company, which reported revenue of 3.74 billion RON in 2025, expects a similar level of revenue growth this year.
In 2026, Leroy Merlin marks 15 years of operations in Romania. During this period, the company has significantly expanded its store network and currently operates 25 stores in 16 cities. By the end of 2026, the retailer plans to add two more stores to its network.
“These 15 years of Leroy Merlin in Romania mean much more than an anniversary. They reflect the evolution of our customers and their expectations, as well as our ability to evolve alongside them. Today, we have built a truly omnichannel model that allows every customer to choose the simplest way to complete their project: in-store, online or remotely. At a time when purchasing power is more than ever an important concern, our Everyday Low Price model remains at the heart of our commitment: to offer low prices every day, together with quality products and solutions,” said Mathieu Bauduin, CEO of Leroy Merlin Romania.
The €24.5 million investment planned for 2026 supports Leroy Merlin’s medium- and long-term development strategy, as the DIY retailer continues to expand its national footprint. New store openings are planned in Brăila and Bistrița in 2026, followed by Galați in 2027, alongside investments aimed at optimising the existing network and developing customer services.
Digitalisation is one of Leroy Merlin’s key development priorities. The company continues to invest in e-commerce and in its marketplace, expanding the range of products available to customers through verified local partners.
Leroy Merlin’s marketplace currently has 55 partner sellers, with 60% of them being local partners, and offers an expanded catalogue of more than 75,000 products available online.
At the same time, investments in digital systems and automation are aimed at improving the efficiency of store and logistics operations, while enhancing the overall shopping experience. The company has developed a logistics capacity of more than 48,500 square metres and works with approximately 13 courier operators and specialised logistics partners. Customers can also collect their orders from more than 6,000 Easybox locations operated by Sameday.
In Romania, Leroy Merlin operates 25 stores across 16 cities — Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Ploiești, Pitești, Brașov, Constanța, Sibiu, Suceava, Târgu Mureș, Bacău, Iași, Timișoara, Oradea, Târgoviște and Arad — and has a workforce of more than 3,700 employees.
