Primark opens first store in Iași following a 10 million euros investment

    Published on

Primark has officially opened its first store in Iași, located at Palas Iași mixed-use project, following an investment of 10 million euros and marking the retailer’s debut in Iași County.

The new store spans 3,100 sqm of retail space across two floors. The investment has also created 115 new jobs for the local community.

Iași becomes Primark’s seventh store in Romania, following recent openings in Craiova and Sibiu earlier this year. The retailer continues to grow in the market, with a further store planned in Bacău by the end of the year, while a third Bucharest location is scheduled to open at Sun Plaza during the 2026-2027 financial year.

Maciej Podwojski, Director of Sales, CEE at Primark said: “Today is all about welcoming the people of Iași through our doors for the first time. The €10 million investment reflects our confidence in the city and its role as an important regional destination. I am especially proud of the 115 colleagues who have brought this store to life, and we look forward to giving customers across the North-Eastern region easier access to the Primark experience, while building a strong connection with the local community in the years ahead.”

Primark now operates seven stores in Romania: two in Bucharest (AFI Cotroceni and ParkLake Shopping Centre), and one each in Iulius Town Timișoara, VIVO! Cluj-Napoca, ElectroPutere Mall Craiova, Shopping City Sibiu and Palas Iași.
