DEER completes 14.1 million RON investment to modernize electricity distribution infrastructure in Maramureș County

    Published on

Distribuție Energie Electrică România (DEER) has completed a strategic investment project worth RON 14.1 million aimed at modernizing electricity distribution infrastructure in the historic center of Baia Mare, Maramureș County.

The project, titled “Modernization of Electricity Networks in Baia Mare, Historic Center – Phase 3,” was carried out by DEER’s Baia Mare branch and represents another step in the company’s efforts to improve the reliability, safety and quality of electricity distribution services.

The investment included the modernization of both medium- and low-voltage networks through a series of infrastructure upgrades. Works comprised the modernization of approximately 1.9 kilometers of underground 10 kV power lines, as well as the conversion of around 3.5 kilometers of 0.4 kV overhead lines into underground cable networks.

In addition, DEER upgraded 273 single-phase service connections and 24 three-phase service connections, while installing 67 new distribution, metering and protection cabinets. The project also included the installation of 13 new three-phase metering and protection units and 118 new single-phase metering and protection units.

The investment was financed entirely from the company’s own resources and is expected to deliver significant benefits to consumers and businesses in the area.

According to DEER, the modernization works will contribute to reducing both the frequency and duration of unplanned power outages, while ensuring optimal operating parameters across the distribution network in compliance with the national performance standards governing electricity distribution services.

“The completion of this project will enable users to benefit from electricity distribution services delivered to high quality and safety standards, while improving the overall reliability and performance of the network,” the company said.
