Effective June 10, Iulius Dan Plaveti has assumed the mandate of President of the Executive Board of Hidroelectrica, while also serving as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His mandate will run until November 7, 2027.
His appointment comes at an important stage in Hidroelectrica’s development and consolidation, marked by the acceleration of investments in renewable energy generation, the modernization and refurbishment of existing facilities, the development of wind and photovoltaic projects, the integration of energy storage solutions, and the strengthening of the company’s position as a leader in Romania’s energy transition.
With more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, regulation, and executive management, Iulius Dan Plaveti has led organizations and projects of strategic importance to the national economy, gaining extensive insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping the transformation of Romania’s energy system. Previously, he held leadership positions within Complexul Energetic Oltenia and the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
“For me, Hidroelectrica is not only about figures, projects, or investments. Hidroelectrica is about people. People who have carried forward the tradition of this company. In the mandate I begin today, my goal is to build together. We face significant challenges ahead, but also extraordinary opportunities,” said Iulius Dan Plaveti on his first day in office.
The current structure of Hidroelectrica’s Executive Board is as follows:
- Iulius Dan Plaveti – President of the Executive Board (CEO)
- Bogdan Nicolae Badea – Member of the Executive Board (CIO)
- Radu Ioan Constantin – Member of the Executive Board (CAO)
- Ianăș Rădoi – Member of the Executive Board (COO)
Until the designated Executive Board member for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) assumes office, the responsibilities associated with this role will continue to be carried out by Radu Ioan Constantin in his capacity as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
