    ”In workplace relationships, consistency and correspondence between words and deeds generate trust. Employees need to trust the organization, in the organization’s altruism and in its reputation. We need to know that the organization can adapt to changes that generate pressure. And this pressure is created not only within a company, but also results from the socio-economic climate. Therefore, HR people are responsible for the mental health of people beyond the organizational environment. We talk a lot about transparency, involvement, psychological safety, ” said Laura Bușu Boboc, HR Lead at Michelin Corporate & Business Services (CBS) Bucharest, within the panel talks of the recently held event People Empowering Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

    At Michelin, we have created a culture focused on the individual. We defined this concept based on values that have long existed in the organization. I comes from Inspiring. Create trust, awareness, results, empowerment. This year, in the area of psychological safety, we implemented the Fearless Organization Scan methodology – a methodological tool that concretely measures the psychological safety index on 4 dimensions: openness to helping colleagues, attitude towards risk and error, diversity and inclusion, open and honest conversations.

    We have been talking a lot about this generational gap lately. In Michelin Romania, we are 6,000 people and globally, 200,000. It is a company with over 150 years of economic presence and many service lines. This means that we have people of all ages in the company. The generational gap is inherent, the main generations, the young and the mature ones have different working styles, different expectations. So you have two sets of different perspectives, what do you do with them? We mixed these generations, we created a framework in which they can learn and work together. At Michelin, we have a training program that celebrates 57 years, with content that has been adapted over the years, up to the present day. I believe that the performance of a company lies directly in how we can unite these generations and use collective intelligence to achieve performance.
