Promateris, Romanian producer of packaging with a low carbon footprint, reported a turnover of 168.7 million RON in 2022. EBITDA for 2022 reaches 18 million RON, with an EBITDA margin of 11 percent.

“The Promateris Group continues to strengthen its leading position on the market of packaging with a low carbon footprint, by investing in increasing production capacity, but also by developing the product portfolio. The year 2022 was certainly one marked by complex challenges, such as accelerated increases in the costs of raw materials, energy, labor, or financing costs. Also, due to existing supply chain delays, part of the investments scheduled for operationalization in 2022 have been rescheduled for 2023. These will have a significant positive impact on EBITDA starting from the second semester of 2023. We intend to continue the investments and have plans to regional development regarding compostable packaging, but at the same time we are also analyzing other types of projects with a green component” said Tudor Georgescu, CEO Promateris.

In addition to the potential M&A transactions on the European market, Promateris says it will continue to invest in the development of new products with increased added value, based on the company’s R&D activities. Promateris also aims to start the production of raw material based on corn starch, aimed at the production of biodegradable and compostable packaging.
