Sabin Sarmas, Authority for the Digitalization of Romania: “I noticed a strong trend of blockchain use inside public institutions”

    Published on

“The Authority for the Digitalization of Romania has a very important role in being a link between the private sector and the Romanian state. We try to be an actor who creates both policies, but who also goes to the implementation area. We are working on strategies, legislation. We obliged all public institutions to implement the electronic signature,” Sabin Sarmas, President, Authority for the Digitalization of Romania said during the Smart Transformation Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

“We are trying to prepare for what is to come. We try to create poles of competence at regional level, digital innovation hubs. We are trying to come up with concrete implementations. We have created different platforms, for example for the Ministry of Labor. We facilitate the interaction with the citizen,” he explained. “I noticed a strong trend of blockchain use inside public institutions. We help public institutions to structure their data. We try to change the whole relationship between the state and the private sector.”
