    Published on

Arctic, the leader of the Romanian home appliance market and one of the major contributors to the local economy, has decided to temporarily close its factory in Gaesti following 66 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

All those confirmed positive are asymptomatic and are hospitalized, under the close monitoring of the local medical authorities. The refrigerated box lines will start production on June 2, and the refrigerator lines on May 25. In the meantime, the factory will go through an intense disinfection program. All the employees of the factory will enter technical unemployment for the entire period in which the production lines remain closed, and the difference up to the net salary corresponding to each position will be covered by Arctic.
