Digital transformation is a process that does not always evolve at desired pace, but it is an impactful phenomenon, promoted at technological, economic and social level, said Mircea-Toma Modran, Chief Information Officer, Electrica. “Digital transformation also serves national or strategic interests. A necessary condition for digitization is the existence of the Internet and broadband data transmission capabilities. This process also applies to utility companies.”

According to Modran, some of the obstacles to digital transformation would be high costs, complexity and difficult use or lack of interest.
