BCR announced a net profit of 428 million RON in the first quarter of the year, 60 percent higher compared to the same period of 2019.

Net interest income increased by 9.4 percent to 598 million RON, driven by higher volumes of loans both on the retail and corporate customers segment, the bank said.

The non-performing loans (NPL) rate reached 3.7 percent in March 2020, the lowest level in the last 12 years, down from 4.1 percent in December 2019.
