The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) recognized the economic achievements of companies operating in Districts 1 and 6 of Bucharest on Wednesday, the 14th of October, as part of the Bucharest Company Rankings – District Stage. The event took place in the “Carol I” Auditorium of the CCIB Palace.â
“The achievements we are celebrating today are the result of your hard work, courage, and sense of responsibility. Behind every award-winning company are important decisions, investments, sustained efforts, and teams of people who contribute every day to the success of the businesses they represent. That is why I believe this ceremony is, first and foremost, an opportunity to thank you for believing in your own projects, for your perseverance in overcoming challenges, and for the essential role you play in the economic and social development of Bucharest,” said CCIB President Iuliu Stocklosa in his opening remarks.
The ceremony recognized the achievements of 4,096 companies in District 1, which recorded a combined turnover of more than 345 billion LEI in 2025 and an operating profit of 33.15 billion LEI. The activities of these companies also supported more than 222,000 jobs.
“I believe that one of the most important changes public administration needs to make is to become genuinely transparent or, rather, to build a culture of true transparency. Not merely transparent communication, open dialogue, and project proposals, but real transparency rooted in an organizational culture. Transparency as a way of working, with decisions clearly explained and public funds monitored with clarity and accountability. I believe transparency is the antidote to corruption, pointless bureaucracy, and wasted effort,” said Iulian Hatmanu, Deputy Mayor of District 1.
The achievements of 3,134 companies in District 6 of Bucharest were also highlighted. In 2025, these companies recorded a combined turnover of 99 billion LEI. Their operating profit amounted to 7.63 billion LEI, while the number of jobs they generated exceeded 113,000.
“I believe that developing the community as a whole requires a partnership between public authorities and the business community. Public authorities have an obligation and a responsibility to create a predictable environment for businesses, put forward concrete proposals, and provide incentives so that, together, we can develop the community. Nothing can be achieved without the private sector,” said Ionuț Alexe, Director General of the Directorate General for Digitalization and European Funding within the District 6 City Hall.
The award ceremony was attended by entrepreneurs from Districts 1 and 6 of Bucharest, representatives of local public administrations, as well as officials from the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue its series of events celebrating business performance with the Company Rankings for Districts 2 and 5, scheduled for the 21st of October, followed by the Bucharest Company Rankings ceremony, which will take place on the 28th of October.
