    Eurowind Energy Romania secures grid connection approvals for 2,300 MW of renewable energy capacity

    Eurowind Energy Romania has obtained Technical Grid Connection Approvals (ATR) for 2,307.4 MW of renewable energy capacity, covering seven wind, photovoltaic and battery energy storage projects. The approvals were secured in June 2026.

    The projects are planned for development in several counties across Romania: Albești, Constanța County (900 MW, wind); Mănești, Prahova County (49 MW, solar PV + BESS); Botoșani County (1,188 MW, wind); Stăncuța, Brăila County (49.6 MW, wind); Liești, Galați County (49.6 MW, wind); Slobozia Conachi, Galați County (49.6 MW, wind); and Pechea, Galați County (21.6 MW, wind).

    Adrian Dobre, Country Manager of Eurowind Energy Romania, said: “We currently have a pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW at various stages of development, and we have already started construction works on the Frumușița and Vector wind farms in Galați County and the Pecineaga Nord-Est project in Constanța County — representing a total of 138 MW of clean energy capacity. Obtaining Technical Grid Connection Approvals for an additional 2,307.4 MW of capacity is an essential step in expanding our project portfolio and directly contributes to Romania’s energy transition objectives. The projects are scheduled to be connected to the national energy system after 2030. However, their connection and the completion of the investments depend on grid reinforcement, and the timely acquisition of construction permits. We are taking all necessary steps and working closely with grid operators and public authorities to deliver these projects.”

    The largest project, located in Botoșani County, is planned to reach an installed capacity of approximately 1,188 MW. It is expected to contribute to Romania’s energy security and support the country’s ambition to become a potential major exporter of renewable energy in the region.

    The project will be developed in stages and will comprise nine wind farms located across Botoșani County. Construction is scheduled to begin around 2031.

    With a total development pipeline of approximately 7.5 GW, Eurowind Energy Romania is continuing to expand its renewable energy portfolio, combining wind and solar generation with energy storage projects to support the country’s long-term energy transition.
