    Published on

Eurowind Energy Romania has announced that it has obtained the authorizations from the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) and has officially started construction works on the Frumușița, Vector and Pecineaga Nord-Est wind farms.

Together, the three projects will add 138 MW of renewable energy capacity to Romania’s electricity grid and will be equipped with 23 state-of-the-art wind turbines supplied by Vestas.

Adrian Dobre, Country Manager of Eurowind Energy Romania, said: “We are pleased to announce the start of construction works at Frumușița, Vector and Pecineaga Nord-Est, a milestone that confirms we are delivering on our commitments and staying on track with our development plans. Over the past decade, we have built a strong local team, an expanding project portfolio and trusted partnerships. After years of preparation, these three wind farms are now becoming a reality. Beyond their scale, these projects mark a new chapter for wind energy development in Romania. They also reflect the consistency of the country’s energy policies in recent years. We hope this direction will continue, supporting long-term investments and Romania’s energy transition.”

The Frumușița Wind Farm, located in Frumușița commune, Galați County, will have an installed capacity of 66 MW and will comprise 11 wind turbines.

The Vector Wind Farm, also located in Frumușița commune, Galați County, will have an installed capacity of 24 MW and will feature 4 wind turbines.

The Pecineaga Nord-Est Wind Farm, located in Pecineaga commune, Constanța County, will have an installed capacity of 48 MW and will consist of 8 wind turbines.

Delivery of the Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines is scheduled for the second half of 2026, while commissioning of the three wind farms is expected in 2027. Long-term maintenance will be provided under a 20-year service agreement.
