FAN Courier reports 310 million euros turnover in 2025, targets 15 percent growth in 2026

    Published on

FAN Courier ended 2025 with a turnover of RON 1.54 billion (approximately 310 million euros), up around 11 percent compared to the previous year. For 2026, the company forecasts a further increase of about 15 percent in revenues.

However, profitability declined by roughly 40 percent last year, mainly due to rising fuel and salary costs. In 2025, FAN Courier paid 290 million euros in taxes to the Romanian state, according to CEO Adrian Mihai.

Parcel volumes continued to grow steadily, with a 15% increase in 2025 compared to 2024, driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, the growth of online stores, and rising consumer interest in online shopping due to convenience, wider product selection, and fast deliveries.

Total investments in 2025 reached approximately €40 million, focused mainly on the locker network, technology and IT, fleet modernization and expansion, and logistics infrastructure development.

Half of the investment budget (around €20 million) was allocated to the expansion of the FANbox locker network, one of the company’s most important strategic projects in recent years.

Around €12 million was invested in the development and digitalization of regional hubs and warehouses, including modernizations in Dumbrăvița (Timiș County), Ineu (Arad County), the Bacău hub, and FAN Courier’s Action headquarters in Bucharest. A further €5.7 million went into fleet development, while more than €2 million was invested in digitalization.

Another major investment project was the installation of a new state-of-the-art sorting system designed to optimize last-mile delivery services and improve operational efficiency. The new Vanderlande system has a sorting capacity of 30,000 parcels per hour and is connected via a dedicated tunnel to the existing infrastructure. The project, developed in two phases, involves a total investment of approximately €14 million.

“2025 was a year of expansion for the courier industry, especially in the B2C and e-commerce segments, despite a difficult economic and political environment marked by tax increases and fiscal uncertainty. Investments by international marketplaces in Romania directly supported market growth by attracting new users and stimulating demand. At the same time, fiscal changes significantly affected consumer behavior, with lower shipment volumes among some local merchants. Even so, we estimate that the courier market grew by more than 10% compared to 2024,” said Adrian Mihai, CEO and co-founder of FAN Courier.

In 2025, FAN Courier reached nearly 9,500 employees across its entire network, including 300 non-EU workers. The company will continue to recruit internationally in 2026 due to the shortage of blue-collar labor on the domestic market, the high productivity and discipline of foreign workers, and the need to better manage peak periods.

Last year, FAN Courier’s courier fleet (pick-up & delivery) grew by 10%, while the linehaul component expanded through both in-house and subcontracted routes.

“For us, 2025 was a good year, and we achieved the main business objectives set at the beginning of the year. The main challenge was cost pressure. Supplier price increases are difficult to fully pass on to customers, so we absorbed a significant part of these costs while remaining competitive through internal process improvements. Although this puts pressure on profitability, it creates opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and continue investing in efficiency, technology, and quality, which are essential for long-term development,” added Neculai Mihai, co-founder of FAN Courier.

One of the most important strategic projects remains the expansion of the FANbox locker network, which accelerated in 2025 due to growing customer demand. The share of deliveries via FANbox doubled year-on-year, and for 2026 the company estimates that 25% of all deliveries will be made through lockers — one of the most visible shifts in customer behavior toward out-of-home delivery solutions.

“Locker delivery has been on an upward trend for several years, which is why expanding the FANbox network remains one of our major projects. Currently, 2,700 FANbox lockers are operational, with another 400 already purchased and in the process of installation. At the same time, we are preparing the acquisition of a new batch of around 1,000 lockers, bringing total investment in this area close to €40 million since the project began. Our goal for 2026 is to exceed 4,000 lockers, with at least 25% of deliveries made through lockers,” said Felix Pătrășcanu, co-founder of FAN Courier.
