The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) has signed a cooperation memorandum with Codata Software Solutions, a Romanian company specialized in integrated software solutions and modern digital infrastructures.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in research, innovation, and the development of digital solutions aimed at supporting Romania’s ongoing digital transformation.

The memorandum was signed by Adrian-Victor Vevera, Director General of ICI Bucharest, and Horia Sabo, CEO of Codata Software Solutions, and outlines joint initiatives in areas such as applied research, technology development, knowledge exchange, and pilot digital projects.

“This memorandum marks a new stage in ICI Bucharest’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and to support Romania’s digital development. Through this type of collaboration, we aim to capitalize on technological potential and actively contribute to the modernization of the national digital ecosystem,” said Adrian-Victor Vevera, Director General of ICI Bucharest.

The partnership reflects a broader objective of strengthening cooperation between the public research environment and the private IT sector, encouraging innovation through shared expertise, and creating opportunities for advanced research and professional development. The two organizations will work together on projects focused on digital transformation, infrastructure modernization, and the application of emerging technologies.

Horia Sabo emphasized the importance of cooperation between Romanian research institutions and technology companies in building sustainable local capabilities.

“Working with ICI Bucharest allows us to combine academic expertise with real-world technological implementation. Our goal is to contribute to the development of reliable, secure digital solutions that respond to both public and private sector needs and help strengthen Romania’s competitiveness in the digital economy,” said Horia Sabo, CEO of Codata Software Solutions.

The agreement also highlights the importance of developing local technological capacity by supporting Romanian software and infrastructure providers. This approach contributes to retaining expertise within the country, enabling innovation, and supporting the creation of high-value digital products and services.

By bringing together research, education, and industry, the cooperation between ICI Bucharest and Codata Software Solutions aims to foster a stable environment for innovation and long-term development. The memorandum represents another step toward strengthening Romania’s digital ecosystem through institutional partnerships and coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors.
