Interamerican Group names Romania as priority market for Anytime’s digital insurance roadmap

    Published on

Interamerican Group reaffirmed its strategic commitment to Romania and outlined the role of its digital-first brand Anytime in accelerating the modernization of the insurance market in Southeast Europe. Speaking at the Delphi Economic Forum in Bucharest, senior leaders and executives emphasized that Romania is not a short-term commercial opportunity but a priority market for long-term investment, innovation, and social impact.

Delphi was the moment to show – not just to tell – that Interamerican Group is fully invested in Romania’s future,” said Antonis Tsaknakis, Country Manager, Anytime Romania. “In a competitive market, Anytime remains committed to a simple, fast, and transparent customer journey. Through our fully digital services, we will offer high-quality products and a modern experience end-to-end.”

Interamerican Group leadership noted that Romania stands out for a combination of structural and market conditions that support a digital-first insurance player: sustained economic momentum, a growing digitally savvy population, and an improving regulatory environment. Anytime brings over 15 years of international digital insurance experience and a proven track record in Greece and Cyprus to the Romanian market.

Interamerican Group’s presence at Delphi was led by three C-level executives whose participation highlights Romania’s strategic importance: René Scholten, CFO, Panos Kouvalis, COO, and Linda Nieuwenhuizen, CCO.

The executives emphasized that digital transformation is balanced with human judgment and fairness. The Group combines the trust of a legacy insurer with the agility of a challenger. Innovation is purposeful, customer-centric, and grounded in long-term value creation and ethical data use.

Insurance is more than risk transfer – it is a driver of long-term economic development,” said René Scholten.  “The strong capital base and disciplined investment approach enable us to support resilient communities and sustainable growth, while ensuring continuity for customers even in times of crisis.” He also noted that a robust capital base and prudent financial management are essential to ensuring continuity of service during crises and natural disasters.

Panos Kouvalis added: “Our Anytime model is designed to scale – digitally native, operationally lean, and built for rapid deployment. In Greece, telematics, preventive services, and near real-time claims management have already improved outcomes significantly. We will transfer that experience to Romania, adapted to local needs and regulations.”

Anytime’s differentiator is the modern digital experience it delivers – simple, transparent, and supported by continuous assistance. Our commercial and omnichannel strategy is built to ensure customers feel supported throughout their journey, especially in moments that matter most,” said Linda Nieuwenhuizen.

Anytime’s entry into Romania is structured around clear priorities:

    • Digital simplicity and speed – a fully online customer journey from purchase to claims, supported by 24/7 assistance and streamlined servicing.
    • Product prioritization – an initial focus on Motor Third Party Liability (MTPL/RCA), with a staged expansion to CASCO and other categories as the market and partnerships mature.
    • Operational scalability – a flexible, data-driven operating model that supports rapid rollout while ensuring service quality and compliance.
    • Partnership ecosystem – collaboration with local partners across retail, telecom, and mobility to embed insurance into customer journeys and co-create relevant propositions.

These priorities are being implemented through an operational presence in Romania and a roadmap toward commercial launch in 2026.

In July 2025, Anytime established a fully operational branch in Romania under the European Freedom of Establishment (FOE) framework. The structure is supported by a dedicated local team and strong partnerships across multiple domains, ensuring a seamless and trustworthy customer experience.

The Delphi Economic Forum Bucharest took place on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at the National Museum of Art of Romania. The event addressed Romania’s strategic role in Europe’s transformation amid major geopolitical shifts shaping the future of Southeast Europe, bringing together leaders from politics, business, and academia to discuss economic development, public policy, and innovation with a focus on strengthening Romania’s regional competitiveness.
