The Palace of Parliament hosts between November 17 and 21 ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK [REW 2025], a summit organized in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, as well as the Department for Sustainable Development of the Government and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, taking place this week in the Human Rights Hall and the Gallery of Honor, daily from 09:30, with two rounds of roundtable discussions and B2B networking sessions.
ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK is practically becoming a high-level strategic dialogue platform that brings together leaders from the energy sector – representatives of the Government, energy authorities, academia, specialists, investors, experts and innovators, as well as representatives of the most important energy companies, who accepted the invitation of the ENERGY EXPO organizers to take part in the discussions.
Key elements of REW 2025
Romania is in a period of profound energy transition determined by the need to have energy security, to ensure price affordability, to move in a balanced way to clean energy taking into account both the fact that our country is one with a hydrocarbon specificity, and the importance of achieving the environmental targets set at European level. In this context, dialogue, collaboration and concrete solutions in the transition to sustainable energy become priorities, and ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK 2025 becomes the place where authorities and industry meet to strengthen cooperation in the use of renewable energy sources in the country, decarbonization of the energy sector, economic growth through innovation and, extremely importantly, in ensuring energy security while reducing dependence on imports.
Five thematic days with an emphasis on direct dialogue between the public and private sectors, roundtable discussions in the Human Rights Hall – Palace of Parliament, B2B cooperation and networking in the Gallery of Honor, with two sessions scheduled in the first part of each ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK day, from Monday to Friday, representatives of the authorities brought face to face with energy companies and related industries, these are just a few key elements of the event.

November 17: harnessing the potential of green energy
“GREEN ENERGY: investing in the avoidable” is the theme that kicked off ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK 2025, on November 17, with a focus on harnessing the real potential of green energy: solar, wind, hydropower that dominate Romania’s “green” picture, but also bioenergy and hydrogen from the perspective of the role of regulations and fiscal policies in ensuring a balanced energy mix. Aligning with European objectives does not only mean large projects, but also prosumers and energy communities as policies for expanding decentralized models.
The moderator of the day, analyst Radu Magdin – CEO SMARTLINK COMMUNICATIONS – managed in an exemplary way to create a bridge between the authorities and the interlocutors present, with dynamic questions and presence of mind. The opening of REW2025 was attended by: Radu MIRUȚĂ – Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Sebastian BURDUJA – former Minister of Energy and Honorary Advisor to the Prime Minister, Laszlo BORBELY – State Advisor within the Department for Sustainable Development of the Government, Mihaela FRĂSINEANU – State Advisor to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Pericles STIVAROS – Ambassador to Cyprus, Dan Virgil PASCU – Vice President of the Competition Council, Irene MIHAI – Policy Officer RPIA, Mihaela CONSTANTINESCU – Director of the Term Transactions and Certificates Directorate – OPCOM, Viorel TUDOSE – OWNER Getica 95, Alexandru BĂTUCĂ – Sales Manager SKE Engineering Romania, Adrian PARASCHIV – Country Manager Romania & Rep. Moldova Photomate, Eduard LUNCAN – Member of Future Energy Leaders Romania, Cristian LEFTER – CEO LEMETAL Energy, Bogdan Lucian CUMPĂNAŞU – Country Sales Manager Sermatec, Ionuț LUPU – General Manager TODOME FERO and many others.
RADU MIRUȚĂ – Minister of Economy and Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism:
“We cannot talk about economic patriotism while the companies that manage the resources of the Romanian state are deeply corrupt. It is an attempt to hide behind some heavy words, so that behind this shadow some people can make a fool of themselves. We are talking about patriotism, natural resources, economic sovereignty, these are extremely important things, but it is not enough just to talk about them. You cannot build economically on the resources that this country has and from the use of which every Romanian should feel in their own pocket that they live in a rich country, while these resources are not exploited in a fair way.”
SEBASTIAN BURDUJA – former Minister of Energy, Honorary Advisor to the Prime Minister and MP: “Last year, Romania became the largest gas producer in the European Union, because Romgaz increased its production, not because OMV Petrom increased its production. OMV Petrom decreased its production. Romgaz is in the process of analyzing, evaluating Azomureș. They are doing due diligence, they are at the end, they are preparing to make an offer and I think that again it is common sense that a large gas producer can valorize this gas in chemical fertilizers, in a country that also has a large, traditional and strategic agricultural sector.”
MIHAELA FRĂSINEANU – State Counselor – Prime Minister’s Chancellery
“All the topics we address are closely correlated with the way Romanian society responds to challenges. And beyond all the discussions we have to finalize Romanian legislation, we constantly aim to be in a very good relationship with what is happening in Western Europe, which is somehow an example of good practices, but which we look at especially from the point of view of the way in which it has ensured economies, industries, but also citizens, access to energy at fair prices and at prices much lower than those in Romania.”

November 18: EPC in the foreground, from design to execution
Tuesday, November 18, day 2 of ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK 2025 brings companies “EPC in the foreground: From design to execution”. EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) contracts are essential for the implementation of energy projects, but in Romania, public procurement legislation and unrealistic cost structures limit efficiency. The second day of the REW 2025 summit addresses risk management in EPC projects, the legislative changes needed to streamline this field, but also good practices in the allocation of contractual risk.
The main sponsor of the day is the company WALDEVAR Energy, which has reached an installed capacity of 1.5GW in photovoltaic parks, including land and floating projects, and is active on 28 construction sites, with projects both locally and internationally.

November 19: “Energy Storage: Power in Reserves”
Storage is the missing link in the energy transition, necessary to balance energy imports and exports, which is why the theme of the third day of ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK: “Energy Storage: Power in Reserves” comes with solutions in the design of renewable energy production parks with storage elements included, establishing the real costs of projects with storage included and discussing the need to implement a national strategy in this area.
The main sponsor of the day is KONICA MINOLTA Romania, and representatives of the companies PRIME Batteries Technologies, PRIME Sales & Services, SKE Solar Inverters, SolaX Power, Volta X Solar Systems, Renovatio Solar, Aureka Energy, Electroalfa, ELEKTRA Renewable Support, Greenvolt Next, Powerup System, Honeywell, Sermatec, VLA Energy, Energy5, Apollo Trading, Enery Element, ICEMENERG, CHINT Solar Romania, Quantum Solar and many others will discuss at the round table the best storage solutions, as well as the impact of storage on prices and investments.

November 20: “Tradition and Innovation: Modernizing the Backbone”
Romania has a solid tradition in hydropower, natural gas and nuclear, which can be transformed into an asset for the green transition and regional security, and carbon storage in depleted deposits can redefine Romania’s role in Europe. Day 4 of ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK 2025 – “Tradition and Innovation: Modernizing the Backbone” brings to the table the Black Sea as a strategic energy pole, the fossil-to-green transition and the reduction of methane emissions due to the need to align with EU recommendations, but adapted to local realities.
The moderator of the two sessions of the day is Cristina Chiriac, president of CONAF – the National Confederation for Women’s Entrepreneurship, who will have an open dialogue with representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the National Regulatory Authority for Mining, Petroleum and Geological Carbon Storage, the Energy Employers’ Federation, the Federation of Gas Unions in Romania, Nucleareletrica, FP-SNEER, CIGRE Romania, UGIR 1903, Future Energy Leaders Romania, Getica 95, Trina Solar, Andel Environment, Quantum Solar, Energy Expert, e.ON, Delgaz, HUAWEI, Amperium Romania, Graphein, ELGEKA-FERFELIS Romania and more.
The Smart Energy Association is the partner of this challenging day within ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK.

About ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK
“We are very confident that REW 2025 will set new standards, especially after the success of ENERGY EXPO – which in just two editions has become the largest exhibition fair for the energy sector in SE Europe, managing this year to attract exhibitors and visitors from over 30 countries. The innovative concept that we implemented at this first edition of the B2B summit ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK will raise the bar in the extremely dynamic segment of conferences that bring representatives of energy companies to the stage and will establish itself as a benchmark in the industry of profile events”, explained Mirela SECAN, coordinator of ENERGY EXPO and ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK.
ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK 2025 is aimed at top & middle management people from energy, utility, infrastructure, finance and technology companies, together with representatives of national and European authorities. They are joined by industry experts and consultants, opinion leaders, representatives of specialized NGOs, journalists from the specialized press and investors interested in the Romanian energy sector.
“We relied on the need for direct dialogue, without presentations and speeches, and we bravely undertook an entire week dedicated to the Romanian energy sector. ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK is practically a marathon with 5 days and 5 specific themes of interest, which we have identified for this year, and this is just the beginning. We are glad that we have found openness both from the authorities, and especially from the private sector and industry experts. For the next REW edition, we invite companies to reserve a place at the round table, in order to truly understand the challenges of all those who work in this sector, but also the solutions that they can more easily identify alongside other market players”, added Mirela SECAN.

All the essential details discussed during the 5 days of ROMANIAN ENERGY WEEK will be found in the new issue of ENERGY MAGAZINE (www.energymagazine.ro) which will be published in January 2026, and starting next year it will have quarterly issues supporting the events organized by MTR Media Group.
